Paulo Rosa Botelho

PAULO ROSA BOTELHO was born in Lisbon in 1967, where he studied art at the António Arroio School and Ar.Co. In 1989 he created his first studio. Since 2003 he lives and works in the Algarve – between the mountains and the sea.

The South was always the starting point for all his research and pictorial rehearsals. The intensity of the colors and the luminosity, triggered the creation of colored atmospheres – unifying element of the whole work.
In his works of vibrant and rhythmic figurative language, the frequent use of the “animal element” puts us in perfect harmony with a world where color is freed from any connotation or naturalistic dependence.
